(2015) Video

I re-appropriate video footage from Dumb Luck, a TV series based on a famous novel in Vietnam, written in the 30s. The story of the video is about how modern progressive ideas were interpreted in Vietnam during the French Indochina Period. The dialogue of the video is juxtaposed with a kitschy K-pop inspired Vietnamese song. The video aims to show a picture of contemporary Vietnamese society, where old and new values, foreign and local cultures crash and at the same time merge.
